Trend Micro names Mehta as A/NZ managing director

Patnaik leaves Trend Micro, moves overseas

Cloud security vendor, Trend Micro, has announced a change in leadership with Sanjay Mehta taking on the role of A/NZ managing director from July 1.

Mehta will continue in his current role as vice-president of emerging markets, based in California, until next month, then relocate to Australia.

He will replace current A/NZ managing director, Dave Patnaik, who will be leaving Trend Micro after four years leading the A/NZ operation to take up an overseas senior management role within another organisation.

Patnaik attributed the company’s success to its business partners and Trend Micro's A/NZ team.

“I am proud to have had the opportunity to lead the company during this period of change and establish Trend Micro at the forefront of Cloud security,” he said.

Mehta will be building on the foundation built by Patnaik and his team, specifically focusing on its partner network, commitment to the channel, Cloud security, virtualisation and Internet security.

Trend Micro CEO, Eva Chen, said Mehta’s experience in the security industry would allow the company to expand on this growth and drive future success in the key A/NZ markets.

Mehta joined Trend Micro in 2010 as vice-president of emerging products and later also assumed the role of vice-president global sales enablement. He joined Trend Micro with more than a decade of executive leadership experience in security software, hardware and services organisations.
