EMC backs its channel with Cloud solutions

Also makes massive product refresh across its entire portfolio

EMC has announced a bunch of new initiatives and products to enable channel partners to accelerate their customers’ journey to the Cloud.

The new solutions are: EMC Cloud Builder and Cloud Provider Practices, EMC Cooperative Services and the VNXe3150 unified storage platform. They follow hot on the heels of the recently announced EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure and the VMAX Service Provider (SP) platform.

The company said in a statement the announcements continued EMC’s journey to the Cloud.

In 2011, EMC announced the Velocity Service Provider program to jointly develop solutions and services with targeted, established service providers. Those partners who successfully complete the Cloud Provider designation requirements will be included in the Velocity Service Provider Program.

There are now more than 160 EMC-powered services being delivered by more than 50 EMC Velocity Service providers worldwide.

The new products were announced at EMC’s first annual Global Partner Summit (GPS) at EMC World in Las Vegas this week.

At EMC World 2012, the company also introduced its largest-ever wave of new transformative products and technologies – 42 in total.

The massive refresh spans key products across its entire information storage, backup, virtualization and management portfolio.

The company said that as a result, EMC ws taking IT efficiency and agility to new levels within both traditional and virtualised datacenters. Through its enhanced information infrastructure portfolio, it was making it easier for customers to more quickly take advantage of the shift to Hybrid Cloud computing with data at its core.
