People can't do without their iPad: element14

It's official. We love the iPad.
Premier Farnell global electronics community, element14, found in its We Love Innovation poll that the iPad is the one electronic product consumers love and can’t do without. More than 4500 Facebook, Twitter and Google+ fans responded to the week-long poll.
About 50 per cent named the iPad as a device that is essential to their daily lives.
The Amazon Kindle, the iPhone and the Playstation also had their fans.
Sensing technology was voted as the biggest technology with the potential to revolutionise electronics in the future, followed closely by LED lighting, robotics and medical electronics.
Sensing technology facilitates intuitive human interactions with devices such as smartphones.
According to element14, it will be a driving technologies in medicine as technology moves towards non-invasive diagnosis and treatment.
During the 2012 Olympics, the majority of respondents chose embedded as the technology that will be a highlight this year, followed by Sensing, Green IT, and mobile and wireless.
element14 global head of community, Dianne Kibbey, said, “The results do show some interesting trends within the industry and the technologies that will spearhead the future, which is where key innovations will become even more significant.”
