NetApp Q3 FY12 revenue reaches $1.5bn

Delivers ninth consecutive quarter of over 20 per cent YoY revenue growth

Storage and data management company, NetApp, has reported total revenue of $1.566 billion for the third quarter of 2012 fiscal year, ending January 27.

Revenues was up on the $1.29 billion for the same period last year.

It represents NetApp's ninth consecutive quarter of over 20 per cent year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth.

Its third quarter 2012 fiscal year GAAP net income was $120 million, or $0.32 per share, as compared with GAAP net income of $186 million, or $0.46 per share, for the same period a year ago.

Non-GAAP net income for the third quarter of fiscal year 2012 was $216 million, or $0.58 per share, compared with non-GAAP net income of $226 million, or $0.56 per share, for the same period last year.

The company is estimating revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012 to be in the range of $1.645 billion to $1.725 billion, which equates to about 5 per cent to 10 per cent sequential revenue growth and about 15 per cent to 21 per cent YoY revenue growth.

It expects fourth quarter fiscal year 2012 GAAP earnings per share to be about $0.38 to $0.43 per share and non-GAAP earnings per share to be $0.60 to $0.65 per share.

“More and more customers are leveraging storage virtualisation to re-architect their datacentres in order to gain efficiency, flexibility and cost savings,” NetApp president and CEO, Tom Georgens, said.
