Startup distributor, Nextgen Distribution, has signed its second vendor partner and will act as the first Australian presence for data solutions specialist vendor, Objectivity.
Objectivity’s premier product is InfiniteGraph, a software solution designed for trawling through massive amounts of data in a timely and efficient fashion.
The solution has many applications in high-end enterprise and Government, including defence, police, healthcare and retail.
The product has been on the market for some four years in the US, and Objectivity has been in business since 1988, but through Nextgen it will be the first time the technology has had a local presence, according to Nextgen managing director, John Walters.
Nextgen was set up to support Oracle in the local market.
Walters said the InfiniteGraph integrated nicely with Oracle’s technology stack, though it did not require it. That said, the plan was to include InfiniteGraph as part of a solution sale.
“It’s not an easy sell, and there’s a longer sale cycle to it,” Walters said. “We’re building the skills to properly support it, and pitch it as part of a solution.”
As Objectivity has no local presence, Nextgen is expected to offer level one technical support as part of the partnership. The company has appointed a chief technologist, Roy George, and now has grown to a team of 14.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
