Technology-enabled business solutions and services provider, CSC has announced that Mike Lawrie will be succeeding Michael W. Laphen as president and CEO of the company, and added to the board of directors, commencing no later than March 21, 2012.
The appointment follows Laphen’s recent announcement that he will retire as the company’s chairman, president, and CEO.
Lawrie, who is currently CEO of UK-based IT solutions company Misys plc, has global experience in the IT and software industry, including 27 years at IBM as senior vice president and group executive. He was also general manager for IBM’s EMEA business, and general manager for IBM business operations in APAC.
CSC Board of Directors lead director, Irving W. Bailey II, said, “Lawrie has extensive experience in managing publicly-traded global companies and a reputation for driving shareholder value and helping companies to reach their potential.”
“The board is confident that Lawrie has the vision and wide-ranging experience to lead CSC forward, as we execute on exciting strategies in areas such as Cloud computing and cybersecurity,” added Bailey.
Additionally, the CSC board of directors has also appointed Rodney F. Chase as non-executive chairman of the board, effective upon Lawrie’s start. At present, Chase is a director on the company’s board.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
