iPhone 5 'to be revealed at WWDC in June'

Apple will get its iPhone launches back on the usual schedule, report claims

Apple is planning to unveil the sixth-generation iPhone at the WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled for June, a report has claimed.

According to the Chinese language Commercial Times, and picked up by Digitimes, the iPhone 5 will use glass to glass touch panel technology like its predecessors, which are produced by touch panel suppliers TPK Holding and Wintek.

The news agency picked up the information from Daiwa Securities, an Asian financial services firm, though few other details are provided.

If the report is correct, it means Apple is returning to its usual schedule for iPhone releases, as the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 3G were all announced at WWDC events, though the iPhone 4S was announced in October last year, a few months after most had expected.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
