The outspoken boss of ISP, Exetel, and telco industry veteran sadly passes away after suffering a stroke

Exetel CEO, John Linton, has passed away.

According to the latest entry on Linton’s personal blog, posted by his son, James Linton, the Exetel CEO, suffered a stroke on Wednesday and later passed away.

John Linton was a telco industry veteran. He was passionate and outspoken about telco related issues including the National Broadband Network (NBN), often relaying his candid thoughts on his blog.

James Linton has asked for people to, instead of sending flowers for condolences, donate to John Linton’s favourite charity, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds at www.rspb.org.uk.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
