Macquarie Telecom has named Brian Fenwick as the general manager for government hosting.
The Cloud and business-centric telco made the new appointment to support increasing demand for its government hosting security services.
Fenwick has more than 15 years in the IT and telecommunications industry and was previously Avanade Australia’s director of the public sector.
The company was a joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture.
From 2000 to 2007 he was an account manager at Optus and was involved with building many of the telco’s key Federal Government accounts.
“Fenwick has focused on building key relationships with Federal, State and Local Government stakeholders,” Macquarie Telecom, Aidan Tudehope, said in a statement.
“We are pleased to have Fenwick on board and look forward to him exploring and building on Macquarie Telecom’s growth and success in government hosting.”
Fenwick is based in Canberra.
In other appointment news, Optus has recruited Telstra's executive director of network products and services as the new managing director of its business division.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
