Andrew Fisher has been appointed Dimension Data Queensland state manager.
He will be responsible for spearheading its entire business of more than 100 staff in Queensland as the company prepares for strong growth in 2012.
Fisher takes the role after leading Dimension Data’s Queensland sales operation as sales manager since January 2011. He will initially focus on growing Dimension Data’s key areas, especially Cloud solutions and managed services. “These will be significant growth areas for Dimension Data throughout 2012, with very strong client interest in business solutions that can help protect data and intellectual property," Fisher said.
"The recent flood disasters have had a real impact on the local community and driven a renewed focus on data protection." Dimension Data COO, Ken Westwood, said Fisher’s client focused approach was a perfect fit to lead the company in Queensland. “Andrew has an engaging management style and long term experience of managing complex and diverse business environments,” he said. Prior to joining Dimension Data, Fisher held a number of senior sales and management roles.
As global business development manager at Apollo Group, he established operations in Canada, USA, NZ and Australia.
Previously he was managing director at global IT service provider, Touchbase, with responsibility for seven operations covering Australia, NZ and India.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
