Optus has recruited Telstra’s executive director of network products and services, John Paitaridis, as the new managing director of its business division.
As the Optus Business managing director, Paitaridis will take charge of the telco’s enterprise, corporate and government business division. This includes Optus subsidiaries Alphawest and Uecomm.
He will be responsible for the division’s sales, marketing, products, operations and service delivery.
Paitaridis has more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications and IT industries. His last role at Telstra saw him deal in the enterprise and government space. He had been a long time staffer at Telstra.
“In 2012 we will up the ante in the enterprise market by striving to deliver the most compelling ICT solutions and become the service provider of choice for corporate and government customers,” Paitaridis said in a statement.
“Our focus remains on delivering superior customer experience and give customers a competitive edge through differentiated products and services in areas such as cloud computing data networking, mobility and enterprise collaboration.”
Last year, Optus make several appointments to the business division including Paul Mullins as government sales director and Sam Kennedy as general manager of Queensland and NT.
Former Optus SMB marketing director, Phil Offer, was made director of mobility and convergence.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
