KAYAK
Cost: Free | Developer: kayak.com | Platform: iPhone and iPad | Version 21.0.2 | 15.3MB | iOS 4.0+
KAYAK is a comprehensive travel app that is great for holiday planning.
The app is packed with useful tools but the main one – which I find the most useful – is the flight fare checker. I usually use Kayak.com to find the best flights anyway and the app allows me to do that easily on the go.
You can even book flights through the app.
There is also a hotel and rental car price check tool which works similarly to the flight fare checker.
Another advantage of using the KAYAK app for your travels is its extensive databases. These range from tours and attractions, list of fees charged by different airlines as well as airport information.
Other useful tools include a currency converter and a packing list.
This app was reviewed on an iPhone 4.
Pros: Clean layout, easy navigation, jam-packed with useful travel tools, free
Cons: Large file size – 15.3MB
Verdict: KAYAK is a well-rounded app for busy people that want an easy way to plan a holiday.
