After initially being selected for the role in late November, Alex Pinchev has now begun his tenure as president and CEO of disaster recovery and data protection solutions vendor, Acronis.
Pinchev came into the role after working at Linux distribution vendor, Red Hat, as president of services and field marketing in global sales.
He has also served as a member of the Acronis board of directors since November 2010.
At the time of his appointment last year, Pinchev said he hoped to build upon the vendor’s growth over the last 12 months when moving forward in his new role.
“As we enter the next phase of the company's growth, we have a very strong customer base, a great partner ecosystem, talented team and a portfolio of intellectual property that will be leveraged to take advantage of the growing opportunity within the virtualisation and Cloud markets,” Pinchev said.
Pinchev replaces former CEO Jason Donahue who served in the role since 2008.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
