Data protection provider, Acronis, has added 3000 new partners in the last six months of 2011, following the introduction of its new Global Partner Program.
This has resulted in the company bringing its worldwide total to more than 25,000 partners.
The company attributed the rise in the number of registered channel partners to the introduction of the new Global Partner Program, which aims to improve the tools, assets and support available to Acronis partners.
It is a multi-tier progression-based program that offers financial benefits, expanded use of support tools, special pricing, technical training and marketing collateral.
Acronis also recently introduced two new products that enable its channel partners to provide solutions for backup and disaster recovery – in order for them to cater to the growing number of SMBs wishing to move their infrastructure to a virtual environment.
The two products are Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Virtual Edition, which provides integrated data protection and disaster recovery to IT administrators with an infrastructure including physical, virtual and cloud platforms, and Acronis vmProtect 6.
This provides backup and recovery for VMware vSphere environments. To match its product set, Acronis is focused on recruiting virtualisation specific partners.
Businesses interested in becoming an authorised partner can register on the Acronis partner portal.
Resellers are entitled to certain benefits, such as receiving a free Acronis vmProtect 6 NFR covering 4 CPUs.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
