Telstra has urged Australians to nominate SMBs for the 2012 Telstra Australian Business Awards.
The awards program, which is in its 20th year, aims to celebrate the achievements of the SMB sector.
Founder and director of the 2011 Telstra Australian Business of the Year, Australian Pressure Testing Services, Paul Newbound, said small businesses contribute significantly to the supply of Australia.
“My challenge to small and medium business is to dare to dream bigger and nominate your business in 2012,” he said. The 2012 Telstra Australian Business Awards have five award categories: News Limited Micro-Business Award, MYOB Small Business Award, Medium Business Award, The Start-Up Award and Telstra Regional Business Award.
It also includes the People’s Choice Award, open to all submitted entrants in the Telstra Australian Business Awards. The awards offer all entrants with a Business Health Check, a free 70-page report that evaluates business performance against independent benchmarking of core business indicators.
Winners of state and territory categories will proceed onto the national Telstra Australian Business Awards in Sydney on August 29 this year. The overall state and territory winners will be eligible to win the 2012 Telstra Australian Business of the Year.
Finalists and winners will be subject to winning accolades, public profiles, a share of $500,000 in cash and prizes and the privilege of joining an exclusive national business alumni.
Entries open on February 6 and close on April 2. Entries for the People’s Choice Award can be made from April 4.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
