ASG Group (ASX: ASZ) has named Stuart Whipp as its chief financial officer.
Whipp replaces Dean Langenbach, who served as CFO since July 2005.
Langenbach will remain with ASG, being promoted to the position of chief operating officer, and will take on responsibility for all operational aspects of ASG's business.
Whipp was formerly a chartered accountant with extensive financial management expertise. Most recently, he was global head of tax for agricultural retailer, Agrium Asia-Pacific, where he had key roles on various complex commercial projects, including sales, acquisitions and integrations.
He was acting CFO for Agrium during the period of the potential merger of AWB with Graincorp and the ultimate sale of AWB to Agrium, and held senior positions at KPMG in London and Melbourne where he was responsible for providing services to local and international clients.
“Stuart will play an important role in shaping the future strategy and growth of ASG, bringing a wealth of financial management experience, strong leadership skills, keen commercial acumen and a compelling strategic outlook to the role,” ASG chief executive officer, Geoff Lewis, said.
Whipp will commence his duties as CFO from January 12, 2012 and be based in the company's Melbourne office.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
