Distribution Central business unit, Unity Systems, has released a new tool to help partners sell Avaya solutions called the Avaya Configurator by Distribution Central.
In short, that bears a coincidental, but perhaps fortunate abbreviation; ACDC.
ACDC is a quoting configurator that has been specifically designed for the Avaya IP Office and data product ranges.
It allows partners to create accurate configurations that prevent the user making errors in the system build and includes pricing or promotional discounts.
Distribution Central managing director, Nick Verykios, claimed the tool was already showing good traction with the channel.
“It reduces the cost of sale dramatically,” he said.
“The engineer time saving are substantial. There is nothing simple about IP-based telephone systems, and the tool can save the engineer from a couple of hours to a day’s worth of work.”
The tool has been in development at Distribution Central for six months, and then a further 3-4 months of testing. It’s available to all Distribution Central partners who are Avaya certified through the Unity Systems website.
Unity Systems was recently nominated for the Avaya APAC Distributor of the Year, which was a significant milestone for Unity Systems in its two-year distribution partnership with Avaya.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
