Coraid announces A/NZ expansion strategy

US ethernet SAN solutions developer, Coraid, has invested $50 million in funding international expansion, part of which will be spent in A/NZ. The company has also hired Jason Martin as its A/NZ country manager. Martin joins Coraid after founding a technology distribution company in A/NZ. Previously, he was vice-president of worldwide services at VMware for eight years.
Coraid, which has a base in Sydney, is looking to open offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand.
Executive vice-president of worldwide sales, Carl Wright, , said, We have a 100 per cent channel-centric model and it is important to have feet on the street.
"A big part of that model is to ensure that our channel partners have the appropriate local support to expand the business.”
In its expansion strategy, Martin said the company will look to recruit channel partners most aligned with its business approaches.
“We are also looking to bring in larger resource integrators specialising in big data, high-performance computing, media entertainment and resources. We need the channel community to support that,” he said.
Coraid will also fcous on its Cloud technologies, especially for SMB and mid-market customers.
Along with Martin, one other employee has been hired as part of the A/NZ expansion strategy.
the company expects to double that to four employees in the near future.
The company has six channel partners in Australia: Orio Technologies (gold partner), ACTG Consulting, NSI Technologies, Horizon/Netgear, Relative Networks and Availability Solutions.
