ACCOLADES: SMB Reseller of the Year, Anittel

Accolades recognises the winners at this year's ARN IT Industry Awards - the best of the best. This year’s ARN Awards recognised standout companies selling to all levels of customers; from the enterprise right through to the small SMBs. Each ‘level’ of customer has its own unique pain points and challenges, and many resellers have developed exceptional skills to address their specific target markets. This year’s Best Reseller Initiative Award recognised a reseller that has been instrumental in launching a very beneficial product to the education market.

2011 has been a busy year for Anittel, which has experienced both ups and downs throughout its countrywide operation.

“Business is different in different regions, which is quite interesting,” Anittel managing director, Peter Kazacos, said. “In some regions its doing better than in others, so in the West it’s booming quite a bit, whereas in other parts of Australia it’s a bit more difficult.”

While admitting that some areas are performing well for Anittel and other areas less so, Kazacos states that one thing in common in all areas is that customers are looking at how to get more out of their existing technology instead of necessarily purchasing new ones.

“We’re looking at ways that customers can take advantage of hosted solutions so it reduces their need to invest in new infrastructure purchases,” he said.

The customer-centric approach has enabled the company to be recognised as the SMB reseller for 2011, an accolade Kazacos attributes to the company’s market reach.

“We won it because of the coverage that we have all over Australia and our focus in the sector,” said. “We’ve got regional offices across the country, as well as a focus on the SMB sector as opposed to SMB being a part of a much larger positioning, so we specialise in the space and we’ve got the regional coverage.”

Looking towards next year, Kazacos sees positive growth at Anittel and hopes it will be reflected in next year’s awards.

“We aim to increase our coverage, as well as increase our reach towards customers by providing them with a wide range of product offerings,” he said
