Acer Computer Australia has announced its new pricing structure for the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook series.
The Aspire S3 is now available from $999 – a $200 drop since its launch.
According to the company, it is the first to crack the $1000 price barrier in Intel’s new category of thin and light laptops.
Acer’s Intel Core i3 model (Aspire S3-951) will now offer the new price point and a high performance solution which combines both HDD and SSD storage within one hybrid system.
In addition, Acer has introduced a second Intel Core i5 model to its Acer Aspire S3 family, equipped with a 500GB HDD priced at $1299.
For the mid- and top end models, Acer has also increased the storage capacity on both Intel Core i5 and Core i7 models with SSD from 240GB to 256GB, with prices $1699 and $1999 respectively.
Acer officially launched its Ultrabook range in September 2011 with multiple configurations.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
