Datacentre solution provider, Digital Realty Trust, recently signed a long-term turn-key datacentre lease with National Australia Bank (NAB) for the first of two buildings at its newly acquired development site in Melbourne. Digital Realty CEO, Michael Foust, said the partnership represents its long-term customer commitment and long-term investment strategy in the Australian datacentre market.
“Melbourne, like Sydney, has a limited supply of resilient, scalable datacentre space available to meet customer demand for these highly reliable, flexible and secure facilities,” said Digital Realty Trust Asia-Pacific regional head, Kris Kumar.
He added the project for NAB will be Digital Realty Trust’s first of two Tier 3 certified datacentres built in Australia. The second Tier 3 certified facility will be its datacentre at its Erskine Park development site in Sydney.
The new 5000sqm datacentre facility is scheduled for completion in early 2013.
