WhiteGold partners with Meraki

Unified value distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, has partnered with leading Cloud networking business, Meraki, expanding the US-based company’s presence in the A/NZ market.

Located in San Francisco, and funded in part by Google and Sequoia Capital, Meraki provides hardware and software for building large scale wired and wireless networks.

Its 100 per cent Cloud-based managed networking family includes 802.11n wireless LAN, branch routers and firewalls.

Meraki's architecture lets administrators rapidly deploy networks without the training, cost, and complexity of traditional solutions.

The company powers more than 18,000 networks worldwide.

Deployments range from small enterprises and schools to global corporations such as Starbucks, The Westfield Group, and Burger King.

“We are extremely excited about building Meraki’s presence in the ANZ region,” WhiteGold managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said. “Its disruptive technology forms part of our ongoing Cloud strategy – we will be positioning Meraki as an innovative alternative to the myriad of legacy networking vendors in the local market.”

WhiteGold strategic consultant, Leigh Howard,added, “As WhiteGold continues to build out its Cloud strategy, we expect to see strong take-up by our channel partners who are looking to us to provide them with emerging, technology-leading vendors – vendors which will allow them to truly differentiate their offerings and solutions to their end user customers”.

Meraki vice-president of marketin, Kiren Sekar, said that as new types of devices such as iPads and Android phones entered the network, and as users migrated to bandwidth-intensive Web and video applications, IT administrators were rethinking their network architectures.
