Content delivery network vendor, Akamai, has appointed Frederic Moraillon as vice-president of marketing for the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.
Moraillon will be responsible for driving overall branding, field marketing and public relations functions, focusing on strategic growth and development opportunities.
Akamai marks this appointment as its first step in further driving growth in key markets through the strengthening of branding, marketing and go-to-market strategies.
Moraillon has previously held senior leadership roles with Business Objects, SAS Institute, PeopleSoft and Silicon Graphics. In his roles, he has also led, coached and been part of numerous start-ups – including a number of successful specialist software vendors.
Prior to joining Akamai, he was running a boutique public relations firm and software sales business.
He intends to use his experience in integrating business strategies with marketing and sales functions, especially with businesses and organisations embracing mobile and Cloud trends while trying to overcome the challenges of security threats.
Moraillon will be based in Singapore and report directly to Akamai Vice-president of Asia-Pacific and Japan, Sanjay Singh.
The company also recently introduced the Akamai NetAlliance Partner program, designed to strengthen its channel network globally.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
