ac3 to offer Government mobile management services

First bite at the mobile device management apple for specialist managed services provider

Managed services provider, ac3, has added to its Government capabilities with the announcement of Mobile Device Management Services (ac3 MDMS).

The new service aims to address the pain points many Government customers experience around the management of consumer devices, such as the iPhone, which employees wish to use while working, but can lead to sensitive data existing on a insecure location.

The service is being delivered in collaboration with Techhead Interactive.

It is the first service of this kind that ac3 has offered.

“There is a demand for this,” ac3 CEO, Philip McCrea said. “I’m aware of the other solutions on the market, but Government agencies never move quickly, and it’s relatively easy to upsell to existing clients.

“This will be offered to our existing customers for an additional cost to the customer’s overall monthly bill.”

According to McCrea, although Government agencies don’t struggle with consumer device management any more or less than any commercial organisation, the potential costs involved from lost or stolen data presents ac3 with a significant opportunity with the new offering.

In a release, Techhead Interactive CEO, Tim Fussell, said, “With ever more functional mobile devices, on-the-road, out-of-hours and off-site working will only increase.

"In partnership with ac3, we are early to market in addressing this evolution with quickly available, affordable and all-embracing support.”

ac3 is a NSW-focused Government services provider jointly owned by the NSW Government and eight universities.
