The Victorian Government has expanded its eServices panel adding 180 suppliers across 18 service categories.
This takes the panel size up to 368.
Earlier this year, the Victorian Government decided to shave off 65 suppliers from the panel, but a month later, it decided to refresh its approach.
“It is the largest panel since its inception," Minister for Technology Gordon Rich-Phillips, said. “We understand the importance of improving this access as government can be an important market for our local ICT industry. “This refresh is a win-win situation leading to greater choice, and competition and therefore greater value for money for the government, as well as more opportunities for our local industry.”
Companies on the eServices panel are eligible to bid for contracts to provide ICT services to Victorian Government departments and agencies.
The initial term of the appointment is until June 30, 2014, with a possibility of two one year extensions.
An industry-government working party will be put in place to advise the government on potential improvements for future eServices Panels.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
