Security vendor, WatchGuard Technologies, has announced record revenue growth in Q3 2011 including 23 per cent across A/NZ.
In particular, the company experienced 15.6 per cent year-over-year (YoY) Q3 billings growth and expects Q4 to be another record quarter due to increased global demand for unified threat management (UTM) security appliances.
This was the case in its other global offices, which include Q3 YoY growth of 44 per cent in Central Europe, 35 per cent in Southern Europe, 26 per cent in the UK and 22 per cent in India.
Watchguard attributes a strong increase among upper mid-market (organisations with 1000 to 3000 employees), and managed security service providers (MSSP) to its 66 per cent sales increase of its high performance XTM 8 series appliances.
The demand for the latest security service, Application Control, was another reason for the growth, said Watchguard. The company is also seeing a growing demand for its cloud-based security service, Reputation Enabled Defense, which gives businesses cloud protection against viruses, malware, spyware, keyloggers, botnets and other web-based threats.
WatchGuard currently offers seven add on security services for its “all-in-one” XTM appliances, including: Application Control, WebBlocker, Gateway Antivirus, Reputation Enabled Defense, spamBlocker, Intrusion Prevention and LiveSecurity. These services can be purchased as a bundle or individually to best meet customer needs.
WatchGuard also announced the winners of its Australian Elite 2011 sales incentive competition, with average revenue growth per partner across A/NZ of 103 per cent in the financial year 2010/11.
The Elite 2011 sales competition saw a 40 per cent participation rate increase on 2010, with over 80 organisations entering this year. Partners and resellers were measured on sales growth and performance from 1 July 2010 to 30 September 2011.
