It puts a rubber stamp on Optus’ Elevate Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) are compliant with VMware cloud standards. VMware vCloud Datacenter services are based on VMware vCloud cloud infrastructure and management technologies including VMware vSphere, VMware vCloud Director and the VMware vShield product family.
It uses a common management and security model for seamless and low-cost migration of applications from a customer’s internal datacenter to a provider’s cloud, such as Optus Elevate.
In a statement, Optus director of fixed products and marketing, Trudy Holtzhausen, said gaining the certification allows the telco to broaden its cloud offerings.
“As SingTel is also a certified VMware vCloud Datacenter service provider, this presents the opportunity for Optus to provide regional cloud services across Asia Pacific further down the track should the customer need arise,” Holtzhausen said.
