Reaching Apple’s App Store Hall of Fame, Pulse is an app that provides you with the top stories of the day in a fun and engaging manner.
It merges all your desired websites and transforms them into a colourful and interactive mosaic. All you have to do is to tap on an article to see an enlarged view of the news story.
You can even save stories to read them later across all platforms or choose to sync them with other apps such as Instapaper, Read it Later and Evernote. Story sharing via FaceBook, Twitter and e-mail is also enabled.
The app gives you a dual view option for every article featured on the app. You can switch between a clean summary of the article or read it directly off the website it is from.
It also has other features such as source syncing, which allows you to sync all your sources across all your devices; news discovery, featuring new publishers each week; and integration with reader, which directly imports all your RSS feeds and syncs them with your account.
Pros: If you do not have Internet access, you can pre-load the news stories and makes them available at a later time. Cons: Has reported cases of the new version breaking desired settings. Verdict: Keeps all your content in one place – any content, from major publishers to blogs to social networks, can be added.
