ASX listed regional specialist, Anittel, landed an agreement with NBN Co to take high speed broadband to regional businesses.
The NBN will form a corenerstone for Anittel to deliver its cloud services to its regional customers. Townsville and Armidale will be the first markets that Anittel will sell into.
Anittel managing director, Peter Kazacos, said the opportunity was strong. There has been many consumer NBN Co partners signed for rural Australia, but not as many for enterprise, he claimed.
"We're in discussions with a number of customers already. There's a lot of interest there. Some of these customers would be lucky to have ADSL.
On the back of the faster broadband speeds, the opportunity is there for Anittel to offer additional services and cloud products, such as online backup and video conferencing, Kazacos claimed.
The agreement follows Anittel's recent acquisition of Future Townsville in September.
