Service management solution provider, Numara Software, recently appointed Geoff Masters as its vice-president of Asia-Pacific sales.
Masters fills the newly created role, which was created following the launch of sales operations in A/NZ and the purchase of its Australian-based partner, Salamander Services.
The move to a direct presence will now enable Numara to lead future customer and partner interactions. The company also intends to establish new channel partners across specific enterprise and SME market segments.
According to the company, the new appointment is a tremendous growth opportunity for Numara FootPrints and Track-It! family of IT management solutions.
In the role, Masters will be responsible for supporting the IT operations management software industry within the region. The company plans to dominate the mid-market for IT operations management in the next five years.
His first point of focus will be building on Numara’s existing partner foundation in the area to create a full Asia-Pacific sales and support organisation.
Masters has had more than 25 years of experience in building out technology-based organisations across the Asia-Pacific region including in Japan, India and China.
Most recently, he served as Tripoint Corporation general manager where he oversaw the development of sales and marketing to support the company’s continuing drive into larger enterprise sector across Australia and Asia. Previously, he held numerous Asia-Pacific managing director and vice-president roles for global companies such as Sterling Software, Computer Associates and Altiris, as well as CEO and director level positions at companies that he has taken through IPOs on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Numara Software CEO, Dave Hansen, said, “As one of the few markets in the world that showed resiliency through the global economic crisis, we see the entire Asia-Pacific region as a large growth area for Numara. By strategically expanding our global footprint and hiring Geoff, we are setting the foundation.”
Masters will be based at the company’s Sydney office.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
