IT industry veteran, Neville James, has joined virtualisation vendor, Citrix as its new channel director for A/NZ.
He replaces Kellie Morris, who was promoted earlier this year, taking up the role as senior manager for partner programs in APAC. James said he decided to join Citrix after analysing booming technology areas.
“Virtualisation of IT solutions is going to be big in the next few years,” James said. “It was a case of narrowing down who are the key players that are likely to be successful in that space.”
In his new role, James will focus on channel enablement and increasing partner skills in Citrix’s offerings and VDI capabilities.
“It’s a huge market that’s taking off,” James said. “From our perspective our single biggest focus is enablement from an ability to communicate with customers, ROI and TCO perspective through to solutions design.”
James plans to expand his channel team down the track along with its footprint across Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide as well as New Zealand.
“We haven’t had a strong channel presence in New Zealand up until now, but it’s an area where there’s a significant opportunity for us,” James said. “Up until now, our channel team has predominantly been based in Sydney and Melbourne. The next few channel members that we bring on board will be about growing our geographic coverage.”
Prior to joining Citrix, James worked for Westcon Group and was also the channel director for Nortel Networks.
