US-based Google Apps service provider, Cloud Sherpas, has acquired the Google business of Brisbane-based, Devnet, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition provides Cloud Sherpas with local talent, more Google Apps certified deployment specialists, and access to regional customers such as Technology One, Altium and Investor’s Club.
Cloud Sherpas boasts it has more Google Apps certified deployment specialists than any other partner globally.
“Our acquisition of Devnet, an early Google partner, ensures that our local team will be well-equipped to serve the increasing demand from both enterprises and local businesses looking for an experienced Google Apps partner in the region,” Cloud Sherpas CEO, Jon Hallett, said in a statement.
The US company set up a presence in Sydney in July, after acquiring New Zealand-based Google reseller, WaveAdept.
At the time, Hallet said it planned to add more staff quickly in A/NZ and establish its Asia Pacific headquarters in Sydney.
“Sydney gives us a launch pad to all of Asia,” Cloud Sherpas co-founder and acting regional general manager, Eran Gil, said. “While we intend to focus on delivering world-class service and support to businesses in Australia and New Zealand in the near-term, over time, we expect to work with many customers in Singapore, India, Japan and other Asian markets.”
