NBN Co reorganises top level management

Quigley will conduct a worldwide search for new COO post

NBN Co CFO, Jean-Pascal Beaufret, has resigned from his post amid a reorganisation of senior management within the company.

Beaufret will be leaving his post in January.

As part of the reorganisation process it has created a Chief Operating Office (COO) post, which CEO, Mike Quigley, will be conducting a world wide search to fill the position. In the meantime, Quigley will handle those responsibilities.

Some of the COO tasks will entail construction, deployment planning and IT network operations.

Kieren Cooney has stepped into the new Chief Communications Officer (CCO) position, which he will start in November. His responsibilities entail government, media and stakeholder relations as well as public education campaigns. Cooney was previously Telecom New Zealand’s chief marketing officer.

Mike Kaiser has been appointed as the head of quality control, reporting to Quigley.

Additional responsibilities have also been handed to head of product and industry relations, Jim Hassell, who will also be handling regulatory affairs.

Head of corporate services, Kevin Brown will also take on more tasks, covering commercial affairs.

NBN Co spokeswoman, Rhonda Griffin, said the reorganisation reflected the transformation of the company from a start-up two years ago, to a company handling the full scale build and rollout of the NBN.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
