SMB and enterprise telecommunication systems supplier, Aastra, has signed a distribution agreement with channel based organisation, WhiteGold Solutions.
WhiteGold will distribute Aastra’s full range of SIP telephones - a suite of flexible terminals that offers advanced interoperability with major IP telephony systems and IP phones for Microsoft Lync.
It will also be distributing a new business communication platform for SMB, due to be launched in the local market.
Aastra A/NZ director of sales and marketing, Tony Warhurst, said adding the voice-unified communication solution from Aastra to the WhiteGold product range will aid both parties in expanding their reseller partners and building a strong working relationship with both resellers and customers.
“We are trying to simplify how our channel does business with us by partnering with flexible and dynamic distribution partners,” Warhurst stated. WhiteGold picked Aastra as a partner as it was seeking a new vendor with open standards technology and a large existing footprint in the UC space within Australia.
Its range of handsets fully optimised for the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, new platforms and IP Telephony systems to be released for the SMB space and its videoconferencing technology were also other reasons it was picked.
WhiteGold managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said, “Given Aastra’s history in being instrumental in the development of the SIP open standard, and that they have grown both organically and through acquisition (most notably the acquisition of Ericsson’s technology in this space), we feel that we will be positioned for success.”
