CA Technologies is purchasing WatchMouse, a maker of SaaS-based tools for monitoring mobile and on-demand applications, the company announced Friday. Terms were not disclosed.
The WatchMouse technology is sold via subscription and will be rolled into CA's portfolio of application monitoring tools. It will serve as a lower-cost, subscription-based alternative for customers who want to track application performance but don't need an extensive suite of capabilities, CA said.
WatchMouse's software is backed by a network of roughly 60 monitoring stations in 40 countries, providing real-time information about application behavior, according to a statement.
The Netherlands company's customers include ING, Citibank, AT&T, Siemens and Orange.
CA Technologies competes in the application monitoring market with the likes of BMC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Compuware. Earlier this month, Compuware increased its investment in the market, announcing the purchase of DynaTrace for US$256 million.
