School network ICT distributor, OzEd Software, has unveiled three Internet filters and security solutions for the home and education sector.
The solutions, It’s My Device, It’s My Notebook and It’s My Filter, were designed to assist the Federal Government nationwide roll out of devices for school students as it was implemented without any specific security software support.
According to the company, it has left school computing networks vulnerable to unauthorised access and activity, corruption and students exposed to cyber bullying from the school issued devices.
OzEd software identified four key areas of concern that emphasise the need for advanced software security in schools:
- Using unauthorised devices on a school network – including iPods, iPhones and personally-owned notebooks
- Account sharing and making use of peers’ notebooks
- Bypassing school Internet filtering services by using mobile broadband services
- School’s inability to control student Internet activity on a school issued device while at home.
The company also introduced a new solution, It’s My Home Filter, for parents to control their home Internet and restricting access to inappropriate sites.
The software fully integrates across all Windows platforms.
