Locale
Cost: $9.52 | Developer: two forty four a.m | Platform: Android| Version 1.6 | 941k | Android 1.5+
The Locale app for the Android platform allows users to create situations and specify the conditions under which the settings on the smartphone should change.
Locale manages settings based on conditions, such as location and time.
Users can set up it by defining key locations on Google Maps interface.
Locale's algorithms automatically combine cell, Wi-Fi, GPS, accelerometer and other signals to determine locations precisely and also works in an environment with poor GPS reception.
The app is expandable, with more than 140 Locale plug-ins available on the Android Market.
Pros: Freedom of never having to worry about your smartphone ringing at the wrong time.
Cons: Battery gets killed quickly with Wi-Fi constantly on for location check.
Verdict: Worth the price for never having to worry about phones going off in meetings.
