Smith resigns from CA

Chris Wilson will be stepping in as acting area vice-president while a replacement is being sought

Managing director, Brenton Smith, has resigned from CA Technologies.

Smith had been with CA since 2005 and moved into the managing director post in 2006 covering South Asia. He stepped into the local managing director role in 2008.

Prior to joining CA, he was the lead of Business Objects in A/NZ and also held top roles at BrightStar and SAP.

In a statement, CA Asia Pacific president, Lionel Lim, said Smith decided to pursue new challenges.

“We respect his decision and wish him all the best,” Lim said.

According to a report in The Australian, Chris Wilson will be stepping in as acting area vice-president while a replacement is being sought. The search has a begun internally and externally for the appropriate candidate.

Last week CA opened its new Canberra branch to supply technical services to the Federal Government.

In July last year, CA made a raft of staff changes, cutting 13 sales staff and appointing five new divisional heads.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
