Telco judges revealed for ARN’s newest award category

With the blurring and convergence of products, there’s never been a better time to include the telecommunications category into the 2011 ARN IT Industry Awards

With the ARN award season upon us, and nominations about to go live on June 16, we’re pleased to announce our telco judge line-up for our newest award category, telecommunications.

We have appointed nine judges: three in the distributor category; three in the vendor camp and three in the reseller ranks. Here is our list:

Distributor

  • Paul Scanlan, IPL Communications
  • Ben O'Leary, ICT Distribution
  • Peter Masters, Express Data
Vendor
  • Sara Adams, Cisco
  • Mac Lewis, Alcatel
  • Keith Masterton, Telstra
Reseller
  • Dave Stevens, Brennan IT
  • Geoff Horth, M2
  • Ian Smith, Alphawest

With the blurring and convergence of products, there’s never been a better time to include the telecommunications category into the awards. More and more vendors are delivering telecommunications via the reseller channel.

The award categories are as follows:

Vendor: This award recognises the vendor delivering telecommunications via the reseller channel. The winner will have gone the extra mile to embrace the IT reseller market and assist channel partners where possible. They will have provided an exceptional product or products, relevant marketing programs and services to support the channel.

Distributor: This award recognises the distributor who has done the best job delivering a telecommunications offering to resellers in order for them to add a new revenue stream to their business (or increase an existing one). Key offerings will include product breadth or specialisation, systems and service delivery, marketing programs and exceptional customer service.

Reseller: This award recognises the reseller, solutions provider or services integrator who has successfully integrated telecommunications as part of their customer solutions over the last 12 months. We want to hear about how you have embraced telecommunications, what your value proposition is for your customers (based on your converged product offering) and which deal was one of your best (that demonstrates a true end-to-end IT & telco solution. The reseller must be able to show growth over the past 12 months, as well as investment, business development and reputation. Judges will be voting on investment, business creation, growth and customer service/reputation.

Best Telco Initiative: This award recognises the best technology, product, marketing offer or business-based initiative introduced by any telecommunications related company over the past 12 months. The winning entry could be a newly established or complementary business units, marketing and technology programs, or reseller services. Judges will be looking at market relevance, innovation, channel friendliness and how the initiative has helped to bridge the gap between IT and telecommunications.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
