Acronis picks Mindscape after Manaccom fall

Backup and recovery software vendor finds a new distributor after its old partner went into administration in February.

Backup and recovery software vendor, Acronis, has signed Mindscape as its new distributor after its former channel partner, Manaccom, went into administration in February.

Acronis has backup and recovery products for physical virtual and cloud environments.

In early March, Manaccom’s parent company, Jumbo Interactive Limited (ASX:JIN) said it will wrap up the “under-performing division” as quickly as possible.

Being a long time competitor of Manaccom, Mindscape seized the opportunity to nab Acronis as a vendor partner.

The distributor will deal in the consumer reseller and retail segment for Acronis since the vendor does its corporate business internally.

“Acronis is considered a top seller in backup and recovery software and that was the main reason we decided to sign with them,” Mindscape sales and marketing general manager, Tonia Velasco, said. “We will assist with the building of niche resellers for Acronis.”

The new vendor addition does not clash with Mindscape's current product line-up.

Through this partnership, Mindscape expects to acquire Manaccom’s reseller database to grow its own pool of channel partners.
