Alphawest reveals enterprise collaboration practice

Optus subsidiary, Alphawest, has launched its Enterprise Collaboration Practice, combining its information management and unified communications capabilities, using the Optus network.
The practice will primarily focus on supplying new collaboration solutions, aiming to help businesses improve their communication and information sharing.
At the Cisco Live event held in Melbourne, Alphawest was also one of the first local partners to show off Cisco Quad with a live demonstration.
Quad allows companies to make better use of their collaboration efforts providing them with better use of their social media, video, unified communications, mobility and productivity. The software platform uses the Optus Evolve MPLS-based IP network, its mobile network and cloud solutions. The integrator has also adopted the technology across its IT environment.
Alphawest general manager of marketing, Liam Fraser, said the practice was a progression of its skills and know-how across unified communications and information management capabilities.
“This collaboration solution is essentially an advanced knowledge management and productivity tool in a digital workspace environment that enables organisations to leverage enterprise-class architecture with all the related policy and security requirements that Enterprise and Public sector customers will require,” Fraser said.
Optus Business products, marketing and strategy director, Scott Mason, added the move towards a more mobile workforce enforced the importance of enterprise collaboration tools that could be integrated across mobile and fixed networks.
