Subscription software licensing distributor, Newlease has added software vendor, CA Technologies to its product line up, specifically taking on CA 3Tera AppLogic.
The product allows users to develop, deploy and manage complex online applications.
Newlease general manager, Warren Nolan, said CA complemented its vendor line up, which includes Microsoft, Trend Micro, VMware and Citrix.
“We have always be about re-defining value as a value-added distributor and one of the ways we go about doing this is adding product to our stack to enable partners to grow their business,” Nolan said.
“It’s not about moving boxes or software keys. The CA product will enhance our existing partner community and the services they provide to clients.”
Nolan said AppLogic would open up new channels to the distributor that it previously hasn’t dabbled in such as open source and Linux-type users. Newlease has about 700 partners on its books.
During the next 12 months, the pair will run events to introduce the new CA addition to existing and new partners. At this stage, Newlease is the exclusive local distributor for CA 3Tera AppLogic. Other CA distributors include Express Data and Ingram Micro.
CA senior sales director, Klasie Holtzhausen, said globally the vendor had made a significant investment in revising its channel strategy.
“It’s important that we leverage the different routes to take our products to market and Newlease fits in as one of those routes to market. We need to distribute in a more effective way and leverage the skills and capability they have to explore those opportunities to market,” Holtzhausen said. “We’ve made a huge investment in technologies such as AppLogic to help capture opportunities in the market place.”
