Optus teams with Google for SMB cloud apps

Optus has taken on Google Apps for Business to offer cloud applications for SMBs.
This is the first SMB software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering for the telco.
The suite of applications includse email, calendar, office applications and videoconferencing. It will be available in the second quarter of this year.
“Whether it’s establishing an online presence, collaborating within the business or reaching new customers, SMBs don’t have to worry about maintaining the back-end IT systems,” Optus SMB managing director, Rohan Ganeson, said in a statement. “We are providing small businesses with the tools and support that big businesses have at their disposal today.”
Optus said the commercial terms and conditions of the agreement are confidential and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
