Former Fujitsu chairman, Ted Pretty, becomes executive deputy chairman of NextDC

IT industry veteran, Ted Pretty, has joined NextDC (ASX:NXT) as its executive deputy chairman, effective April 1.

Pretty’s lengthy experience spans many years across the industry. He was previously the chairman of Fujitsu Australia and was an executive director at Macquarie Capital Advisers.

Pretty returns to Australia from the Middle East, where he was most recently group CEO of Gulf Finance House.

His resume also features group managing director at Telstra, heading up the telco’s retail, consumer and marketing divisions.

“Ted brings strong leadership and entrepreneurship in the industry, and a solid track record in managing high-growth companies. In addition to his extensive corporate governance experience, Ted also brings strong connections in the business community including relationships at the most senior corporate and government levels that will accelerate the success of NextDC,” NextDC chairman, Roger Clarke, said in a statement to the ASX.

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
