NICTA looks to help with logistics

Organisations with logistics operations might be able to realise greater efficiencies and then cost savings through research and software being developed by NICTA. NICTA's Intelligent Fleet Logistics is a project that has been running for the last three years.
The first product of the research, a Transportation Management System, helps logistics operations accurately model their operations and provide savings through automated planning. Through he could not disclose the name, a NICTA spokesperson at its TechFest convention claimed the solution had so far helped reduce costs for a national logistics company by five to 10 per cent.
