Mobotix covets 130 per cent growth in Australia

IP security vendor said it is well on its way to achieving its growth target

IP security vendor, Mobotix, wants to more than double its business in Australia.

At the Mobotix National Partner Conference, the German-based company noted its 130 per cent growth in Japan and wanted to replicate the same success in Australia as well as other parts of the world.

The vendor has been in Australia for six years and its products have reached a broad range of industries including banking, retail, hospitality and even the mining sector with its durable IP camera systems.

A number of local councils and casinos have used Mobotix products as well.

There were also opportunities in converting aged analogue surveillance camera systems with its IP camera products, Mobotix said.

“This growth is achievable because cameras are being installed in many more places than before,” Mobotix sales director, Graham Wheeler, said. “It is no longer just security cameras.”

Beyond just preventing theft or capturing footage of crimes being committed, IP cameras are being used as remote monitoring and identity verification devices, Mobotix said.

The company relies on its 250 channel partner network to sell Mobotix products. One of the challenges Mobotix faced was getting its name out there. It is investing heavily in educating those partners to push the Mobotix brand in order to achieve the target growth.

Mobotix has five staff in Australia and it is looking to boost this number.

Globally, Mobotix, has about 270 and has done many large-scale installations of its IP video systems including at the Donbass Arena in Ukraine.
