UK-based software application provider, App-DNA, has set up a presence in the Australian market.
App-DNA develops software to assist organisations with migrating applications from one operating system to another or to a virtualisation project.
The software, which is licensed on a per-application basis, supports Microsoft and Citrix technologies.
Locally, Glenn Parker, will head up the company as its general manager and will be based in Sydney. Parker was previously with QAS for about eight years prior to making the move. The vendor is also setting up a research and development facility in Perth.
Parker said there was a huge demand in the market with companies that are requesting an automated migration process.
“The software helps customers manage their application lifecycle,” Parker said.
His initial focus has been to identify partners in the local market and create a strong channel base with system integrators.
“At a global level we have a good set of partners like Dell and HP. Locally, we have a partner called Zettaserve,” Parker said.
“We have a lot of tools that partners can use and we’re part of the Microsoft Jumpstart program for application compatibility.
“There’s a lot that we can do for partners to help service their customers and drive business.”
