Security vendor, Trend Micro, has restructured its local team.
As part of the restructure, Trend Micro, has combined its enterprise and medium-size customer groups into one team. Some staff were shifted to other areas of the business, but A/NZ enterprise group manager, Nigel Youlden, was made redundant.
Youlden said he’ll be taking a break before deciding what his next move will be, but there were a couple of irons in the fire.
Trend Micro managing director, Dave Patnaik, said the restructure was specifically focused on business development and account management.
“We wanted to make sure that we are not going by medium or enterprise business, but we’re going for the customer together,” Patnaik said. “We’ve combined our existing customer group with our new customer group."
In the meantime, the security vendor has hired David Higgins as its A/NZ value business development director.
In his new role, Higgins is charged with new customer acquisitions across the region and driving all business developments. He will report directly to Patnaik.
Higgins was previously the sales director for rival, Sophos.
Prior to that, Higgins held positions with IT organisations including 3Com, Tech Pacific Australia and Epson, NEC Australia.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
