Canada-based storage vendor, Clickfree, has hired Scott Dillon, to head up its Australian operations.
Dillon previously spent three years at Seagate running its retail business for Australia and also spent 10 years at Iomega.
The automated storage vendor started focusing on national retailers such as JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee, Harris Technology, and WoW Sight and Sound. Officeworks and Harvey Norman are next on the agenda.
Dillon said it was looking to engage with resellers in the New Year, which focus on the small business and SoHo market.
“One of the aspects of this product that we’re very protective of is the price point, to maintain the margin,” Dillon said.
“The exciting thing for the channel is that it’s effortless backup and there’s margin in selling the product.”
The vendor began making its push into the Australian market in May. At the time, Asia-Pacific vice-president, Marco Manera, indicated he wanted to appoint up to four distributors in the Australian market.
