Storage vendor, Quantum, has appointed Adrian Sharkey as its new country manager.
He replaces Keith Busson, who has now returned to the UK.
ARN understands the vendor’s senior channel manager, Ron Giezekamp, has also left the company.
Neither Quantum nor Busson would comment on the circumstances surrounding the departures.
Sharkey will be responsible for leading the company’s sales strategy and execution in the region, with particular emphasis on expanding its relationships with key partners.
Prior to joining Quantum, Sharkey was part of the channel management team at Hitachi Data System where he was responsible for the creation and execution of strategic channel sales plans.
He was also the virtualisation practice manager at S Central and his resume also includes roles at Datacom Victoria, Optus Group/Alphawest, CSC Australia, BOC Gases and Syntegra.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
